Purpose
Mastering theoretical concepts and practical training aimed at enhancing of job performance in classification of library materials.

Goals
Learning basic principles of publications' clasification by subjects and fields and of creating electronic or sheet catalogues.

- Classification by subjects, related UNIMARC fields and their retrieval
- instruction-information system
- UDC and other classifications
- UNIMARC fields for UDC numbers' entries and their retrieval
- Relationship and converting subject entries into classification numbers
- Key words
- Automatic indexing
- Indexes' retrieval

Teaching Methods
- Lectures in a traditional classroom with use of projectors
- Lectures in an electronically equipped classroom with use of videobeam
